Hostinger Review 2026: Pricing, Renewals and Who It's For
Last updated: October 22, 2026
Hostinger is one of the cheapest ways to get a website online in 2026. The headline price is low, but the number that matters most is the one you'll pay when your plan renews. This Hostinger review covers what each plan actually costs over four years, what you get with the web hosting and the website builder (they're sold as the same plans now), the refund rules, and who should pick something else.
If you're still choosing between builders in general, start with my best website builders for beginners roundup. If you're stuck between Hostinger and Weblium specifically, read the Hostinger vs Weblium comparison. This post goes deeper on Hostinger alone.
Quick verdict
- Best for: beginners, bloggers and small businesses who want hosting, a domain, email and a drag-and-drop or WordPress site in one low-cost bundle.
- Best plan for most people: Premium, if you only need up to 3 sites. Choose Unlimited if you want ecommerce features on the builder, daily backups or more than 3 sites.
- The catch: the $2.49/mo Black Friday price needs a 48-month prepayment ($119.52 upfront). Premium then renews at $10.99/mo, more than four times the intro rate.
- Safety net: a 30-day money-back guarantee, but the free domain that comes with the plan is non-refundable.
What Hostinger sells in 2026
Hostinger used to sell "web hosting" and "website builder" as separate products. On its current pricing page they're one set of plans under "Websites": Premium, Unlimited and Cloud Startup. Each plan lists "Build with: AI Builder, WordPress, … Node.js", so you choose how you build after you buy, not before. The /web-hosting and /website-builder pages show the same three plans and prices, just described differently.
That matters for beginners. You don't have to decide up front between a drag-and-drop builder and WordPress. You can start with the AI Builder and later run a WordPress blog on the same plan, as long as you stay within the plan's website limit.
Hostinger also sells VPS hosting, agency plans, domains, business email and email marketing (Hostinger Reach). This review focuses on the three "Websites" plans, because that's where almost every beginner and small business will start.
Hostinger pricing and renewal prices (October 2026)
These are the prices on hostinger.com/pricing on October 22, 2026, in US dollars. Hostinger is running a Black Friday promotion right now, so the intro rates are lower than usual and may change when the sale ends. Hostinger states that "all plans are paid upfront" and that "the monthly rate reflects the total plan price divided by the number of months in your plan."

| Plan | Intro price (48 months) | Paid upfront | Regular price for 48 months | Renews at |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Premium | $2.49/mo (listed as 80% off $12.19) | $119.52 | $585.12 | $10.99/mo |
| Unlimited | $3.49/mo (listed as 82% off $18.99) | $167.52 | $911.52 | $16.99/mo |
| Cloud Startup | $7.99/mo (listed as 71% off $27.99) | $383.52 | $1,343.52 | $25.99/mo |

Black Friday: what changed since September
When I wrote the Hostinger vs Weblium comparison in September, Premium was $2.99/mo and Unlimited was $3.99/mo on the same 48-month term. The Black Friday sale has cut those to $2.49 and $3.49. Cloud Startup stayed at $7.99. The renewal prices haven't moved: $10.99, $16.99 and $25.99 a month. During the promotion, each plan also gets double AI credits: 500 instead of 250 on Premium, 1,000 instead of 500 on Unlimited, and 2,000 instead of 1,000 on Cloud Startup.
The renewal math in plain numbers
The intro price only covers your first term. Here's what that means for Premium, using Hostinger's own figures:
- Years 1–4: you pay $119.52 once, which works out to about $2.49 a month.
- After that: Premium renews at $10.99 a month. Over another 12 months, that's about $131.88, which is more than you paid for the first four years.
- The domain: it's free for the first year only, then it renews at Hostinger's normal domain price.
- Email: Premium's 2 mailboxes per website are also listed as free for 1 year.
None of this is hidden. Hostinger prints "Renews at $10.99/mo" right on the plan card. But many reviews quote only the $2.49, so budget for the renewal price from day one. If that number is too high for you, the cheap intro deal won't save you money in the long run.

*Hostinger says "Unlimited features are subject to our Fair Usage Policy." Source: hostinger.com/pricing, checked October 22, 2026.

On the website builder page, Hostinger describes the same plans slightly differently. Premium is aimed at "your first website — from portfolios and resumes to blogs and link-in-bio pages," with a large template library and chatbot support from Hostinger Agent. Unlimited and Cloud Startup add "Ecommerce available," "Email marketing with Reach," and priority 24/7 expert support. If you plan to sell products through the drag-and-drop builder, check the ecommerce line on your exact plan before you pay, because the two pages list features differently.

For online stores, Hostinger's builder page advertises 0% transaction fees, 100+ payment methods, and support for physical products, digital products, print-on-demand and services, all managed from one dashboard. Squarespace's Basic plan, by comparison, charges a 2% transaction fee on store sales.
Refunds and the money-back guarantee
Every plan comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Hostinger's refund policy (last revised October 15, 2026) says products "may be refunded only if canceled within 30 days of the date of the transaction." It also says free domains that come with 12-, 24- or 48-month hosting plans "are non-refundable" (with an exception for .br domains) and can't be exchanged for other products. So if you cancel in the first month, you'll get your hosting money back, but the free domain may not be refunded in full. Read the refund policy before you buy, especially if you're paying for four years at once.

Pros and cons
- Very low entry price: $119.52 covers 48 months of Premium during the Black Friday sale.
- Hosting, domain (year one), email and a builder in one bill.
- Choose the AI Builder or WordPress on the same plan.
- Builder stores list 0% transaction fees.
- 30-day money-back guarantee.
- Renewal prices are printed right on the plan cards.
- Renewals are far higher than intro rates: $10.99, $16.99 and $25.99 a month.
- The lowest price needs a 48-month prepayment.
- The domain and mailboxes are free for the first year only.
- Premium allows only 3 websites and weekly backups.
- "Unlimited" is subject to a Fair Usage Policy.
- No free plan, unlike Wix or WordPress.com.
Who Hostinger is for, and who should skip it
Hostinger is a good fit if you:
- Are starting your first blog, portfolio or small business site and want one low upfront payment.
- Are fine committing to four years to get the lowest rate.
- Want to move from a drag-and-drop site to WordPress later without switching hosts.
- Plan to run 2 or 3 small sites, such as a blog plus a landing page, on Premium.
- Want a simple store without platform transaction fees.
Skip Hostinger (or look harder) if you:
- Need a free plan to experiment first. Wix and WordPress.com both have one.
- Can't comfortably afford the renewal price. If $10.99 a month in year five is a problem, the intro deal is a trap, not a saving.
- Want a design-first builder with polished templates and prefer paying a higher price yearly or monthly. Squarespace fits that better.
- Only need a one-page site or link-in-bio. Carrd Pro starts at $19 a year.
- Mainly need sales funnels, email lists and courses rather than a classic website. An all-in-one tool like Systeme.io may fit better (see my Systeme.io Free vs Startup guide).
How to choose the right Hostinger plan
- Count your sites. Three or fewer means Premium. More than three means Unlimited.
- Decide if you'll sell. If you want ecommerce through the builder, check that the plan's card lists "Ecommerce available." The builder page lists it on Unlimited and Cloud Startup.
- Think about backups. A store or busy blog is safer with daily backups, which start on Unlimited.
- Budget for the renewal, not the intro price. Multiply the renewal rate by 12 and ask whether you'd still pay that.
- Pick Cloud Startup only for real traffic. Hostinger pitches it at agencies and high-traffic projects. Most new sites don't need it.
How to set up a Hostinger site (step by step)
These steps follow the purchase and build flow Hostinger describes on its pricing and builder pages. I haven't walked through them myself yet, so the button names in your dashboard may differ slightly.
- Open the pricing page at hostinger.com/pricing and choose Premium or Unlimited under "Websites."
- Pick your term. The 48-month term gets the advertised rate. Check the total and the renewal line before you go to checkout.
- Claim your free domain for year one, or connect a domain you already own.
- Choose how to build: describe your site to the AI Builder, pick one of the hundreds of ready-made templates, or install WordPress.
- Edit your pages in the drag-and-drop editor: home, about, contact, and a blog or shop if you need one.
- Set up email so you have a professional address at your own domain.
- Connect your marketing tools. Hostinger lists one-click connections for Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta Pixel.
- Publish, then set a reminder about 11 months out to review the domain and email renewals, since those free periods end after year one.
Hostinger vs Wix, Squarespace, WordPress.com and Weblium
Prices below come from each vendor's official pricing page, as listed in my website builders roundup, checked October 22, 2026. Weblium's figures are from my September comparison, so confirm them on weblium.com before you buy.
| Platform | Free option | Entry paid price | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hostinger | No free plan; 30-day money-back guarantee | Premium $2.49/mo on 48 months ($119.52 upfront), renews at $10.99/mo | Lowest upfront cost; builder plus WordPress |
| Wix | Free plan, no credit card | Light $17/mo billed yearly; payments start on Core ($29/mo) | Flexible drag-and-drop design |
| Squarespace | 14-day free trial | Basic $19/mo yearly ($25 monthly); 2% store fee on Basic | Polished, design-led sites |
| WordPress.com | Free plan (subdomain, 1 GB, ads) | Personal $4/mo yearly ($2.75/mo on 3 years) | Bloggers who want managed WordPress |
| Weblium | Free plan | Starter $11/mo billed yearly ($132/yr) or $16 month-to-month | Block-based, AI-assisted small business sites with yearly billing |
The short version: Hostinger wins on upfront cost, as long as you're willing to prepay for four years. Wix and WordPress.com let you start free. Squarespace costs more but is built around design. Weblium avoids the long prepayment, since its longest term is one year. For a deeper head-to-head, read my Weblium review.

Pricing: cheap upfront vs flexible billing
Hostinger's headline prices assume you prepay for 48 months. As of October 22, 2026, on Hostinger's Black Friday promo, Premium is $2.49/mo ($119.52 for 48 months, paid upfront) and renews at $10.99/mo. Unlimited is $3.49/mo ($167.52 for 48 months, paid upfront) and renews at $16.99/mo. Cloud Startup was $7.99/mo ($383.52 upfront) and renews at $25.99/mo. Hostinger states that all plans are paid upfront. The monthly figure is just the total divided by the months. The 30-day money-back guarantee lowers the risk of that first payment.
For full plan details, renewals and refund rules, see our Hostinger review.
Weblium overhauled its pricing in 2026, its first major change in seven years according to its own announcement. The old Free/Pro setup became Free, Starter and Business. Starter costs $16 month-to-month or $132 a year ($11/mo). Business costs $25 month-to-month or $210 a year ($17.50/mo). The longest term is one year, and each subscription covers one website.
What that means for a small business: over four years, Hostinger's intro deal is very hard to beat on price, especially if you run two or three sites. Weblium costs more per site, but you never lock in for more than a year, and you can pay monthly while you find out whether the site earns its keep.
Hostinger FAQ
Is Hostinger really $2.49 a month?
Only on the Premium plan, on a 48-month term, paid upfront ($119.52), during the current Black Friday promotion. After the term, Premium renews at $10.99 a month.
What does Hostinger renew at?
According to its pricing page on October 22, 2026: Premium renews at $10.99/mo, Unlimited at $16.99/mo, and Cloud Startup at $25.99/mo.
Is the Hostinger website builder separate from web hosting?
Not anymore. The same Premium, Unlimited and Cloud Startup plans include the AI Builder, WordPress and Node.js, so you can use the builder, WordPress, or both.
Does Hostinger include a free domain?
Yes, all three Websites plans include a domain free for the first year. It then renews at the standard price. Hostinger's refund policy says free domains from special deals are non-refundable.
Does Hostinger have a free plan or free trial?
The current pricing page doesn't show a free plan. Instead, it offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, and refunds apply only if you cancel within 30 days of the transaction.
How many websites can I host on Premium?
Up to 3. Unlimited and Cloud Startup allow unlimited websites, subject to Hostinger's Fair Usage Policy.
Can I sell products with Hostinger?
Yes. The builder page advertises 0% transaction fees, 100+ payment methods, and support for physical, digital, print-on-demand and service products. Check that "Ecommerce available" appears on the plan you pick.
Have you tested Hostinger yourself?
Not yet. This review is based on Hostinger's published pricing, features and terms. I'll update it with my own speed and setup results once I've run hands-on tests.
Verdict: is Hostinger worth it in 2026?
For a beginner who wants to get a site online cheaply and is happy to commit, Hostinger is hard to beat on upfront cost. $119.52 covers four years of Premium, with a builder, WordPress, email and a first-year domain included. The Black Friday sale makes the entry price even lower than it was in September.
The real decision is about renewals. If $10.99 a month (Premium) or $16.99 a month (Unlimited) still feels fair to you, Hostinger is a solid, budget-friendly choice. If not, start on a free plan with Wix or WordPress.com, or pick a yearly plan like Weblium so you aren't locked in for four years.
My pick for most readers is Premium for one to three simple sites, or Unlimited if you're building a store or need daily backups.
Your next step
Check today's price and renewal line on Hostinger's pricing page before the Black Friday deal ends. If what you really need is a sales funnel and email list rather than a full website, you can start free with Systeme.io (affiliate link).
