ToMoviee AI Review (2026): Wondershare's AI Video Generator
Quick answer: ToMoviee AI is a capable, budget-friendly AI studio for short-form creators and marketers. Its limits are short clips, no timeline, expiring credits and refund terms worth reading twice, so treat it as a clip and asset generator, not a complete editor.

AI video generators have gone from party trick to real production tool, and the question now is which one is worth paying for. ToMoviee AI (often written "Tomoviee") is Wondershare's answer. It's a browser and mobile studio that turns text prompts and images into short cinematic clips, and also generates images, music, sound effects and voiceovers.
Facts below come from ToMoviee's official site, pricing page, user guide, credit rules and developer docs, Wondershare's help center and a few third-party sources, checked on 26 September 2026. Prices are in USD, change often, and can vary by region and promotion, so treat every number as "at the time of writing".
Quick answer
- Try ToMoviee if you make short-form content, ads or B-roll and want video, music, sound effects and voice generation in one place at a low price.
- Skip it if you need long, continuous shots or a real editing timeline. ToMoviee generates short clips. You'll still need an editor to assemble a finished video.
- Watch the credits. Every generation costs credits, monthly subscription credits expire at the end of each month, and a new account may start with no credits at all.
Who ToMoviee is for
- TikTok, Reels and Shorts creators who need fresh B-roll, intros and visual hooks every week
- Faceless YouTube channels that build videos from scripts, stock-style scenes and AI voiceovers
- Small brands testing ad concepts before paying for a shoot
- Designers and developers who want images, short animations and audio from one account or API
Who should skip it
- Filmmakers who need long takes. The documented video modes produce 5-second clips.
- Anyone who wants to edit in the same app. There's no timeline. For editing, see our Filmora review.
- People who want a free plan. My new account had 0 credits, so you can't generate anything without paying.
What is ToMoviee AI?
ToMoviee is an AI creation platform from Wondershare, the company behind Filmora, UniConverter and DemoCreator. Wondershare launched it on 1 September 2025 on the web (app.tomoviee.ai) and mobile (iOS and Android), running on its own ToMoviee models.
When I checked, the homepage banner read "ToMoviee 2.5 Pro Is Now Live" and described a cinematic video model that can create multi-shot videos from text, images, audio and video references, "with synced sound, consistent characters, and seamless scene transitions". The user guide and API docs still describe the ToMoviee 2.0 model, and I couldn't find official public specs for 2.5 Pro, so the limits below are the documented 2.0 limits.
Key features
Text-to-video
You describe a scene and ToMoviee generates a clip. According to the official guide, text-to-video produces 5-second clips in Standard (720p) or HD (1080p) mode, with five aspect ratios: 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3 and 3:4. That covers YouTube, vertical short-form, square feeds and product ads. Prompts are supported in nine languages: English, Chinese, German, Japanese, Spanish, French, Italian, Korean and Portuguese.
Wondershare leans heavily on "real-world physics" and claims output "indistinguishable from reality". That's marketing language, so judge it on your own prompts. The homepage also mentions rendering "4K footage 8x faster", but the guide and API docs I read list only 720p and 1080p.
Image-to-video
Upload one image as a first or last frame, or a pair of images as start and end frames, and ToMoviee animates between them. Add a prompt to control motion. For product shots and character art, this is usually more predictable than pure text-to-video.
Camera movement controls
This is one of ToMoviee's more distinctive features. Instead of hoping the model guesses your framing, you pick preset camera moves and shot types: pans, dolly, zoom, orbit, handheld, tracking, crane, bird's-eye, first-person, time-lapse and more. The guide says ToMoviee 2.0 offers 29 professional camera movements (16 basic and 13 advanced).
Video Extend
Because each clip is short, Video Extend matters. Upload a clip, describe what happens next, and ToMoviee continues the scene. Wondershare's Filmora blog recommends it for building longer sequences, so plan on chaining clips.
Audio: music, sound effects, voice and Auto BGM
Audio is where ToMoviee goes beyond many video-only generators. The studio includes Text to Music, Text to Sound (sound effects), Text to Speech (with voice modeling on paid plans) and Auto BGM, which analyzes your video and generates matching background music. The developer docs list Auto BGM input limits of up to 95 seconds and 120 MB per video.
Images, templates and API
You also get text-to-image, reference-to-image, partial repaint and template-style "AI effects" for trending formats. Developers can reach the video, audio and image models through the ToMoviee Creative Engine API.
How to make your first video with ToMoviee
These steps follow ToMoviee's official text-to-video guide. Menu names can change, so treat them as a map.
- Sign in. Open the official ToMoviee site, click Try for Free and sign in with a Wondershare ID. My new account (October 2026) started with 0 credits, so expect to subscribe or buy credits before you can generate.
- Open Video Generation. Choose it in the left toolbar, then pick Text to Video (or Image to Video if you have a source image).
- Write a structured prompt. ToMoviee's guide recommends this formula: Subject (details) + Motion + Scene (details) + lens, lighting and atmosphere. For example: "Low-angle shot. An orange Shiba Inu runs through a sunflower field, red scarf streaming in the wind, golden hour light." Keep the motion simple for a five-second clip.
- Stuck? Use the Creative Assistant. It expands your idea into a fuller prompt. Click Use Prompt to apply it.
- Pick a camera move from the Camera Movement panel, such as a dolly in or a slow pan.
- Set the basics. Choose Standard (720p) or HD (1080p), your aspect ratio and the number of videos. Duration is fixed at 5 seconds in the documented 2.0 workflow.
- Check the credit cost and click Generate. In Wondershare's own guide screenshots, a standard 720p clip shows a cost of 20 credits. Costs vary by model and settings, so read the number on the button.
- Finish it. Extend the clip if needed, add Auto BGM or a voiceover, then download and assemble it in your editor.
My test: signing up in October 2026
I created a new Wondershare ID for ToMoviee on October 9, 2026 to test the free tier. The account's credit balance was 0, with subscription, top-up and gifted credits all at 0, and no new-user bonus.
I then set up a text-to-video prompt with the default settings: the ToMoviee Video 2.5 Pro model, 16:9, 1080p and a 5-second clip. The button showed a cost of 160 credits. Clicking Generate opened the subscription page (Basic US$8.99/month with 1,600 credits, Advance US$19.99, Premium US$89.99), so I couldn't make a free test clip.
What this means for you: plan to start on the Basic plan if you want to try ToMoviee. At 160 credits per default 1080p clip, Basic's 1,600 monthly credits cover about 10 of those clips. Cheaper models and lower settings cost less, so check the number on the Generate button.

Pricing and plans (September 2026)
These are the prices shown on ToMoviee's official pricing page when I checked. There are two visible tabs: Yearly and Monthly (auto-renewing).
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | Credits | Highlights |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | US$0 | US$0 | Gift credits only | Watermark, no 1080p, no high-speed generation, 5 concurrent tasks |
| Basic | US$8.99/mo (list US$9.99) | US$89/yr (list US$119.88) | 1,600/month | Watermark removal, HD, faster generation, batch video, voice modeling, 10% off credit packs |
| Advance | US$19.99/mo (list US$25.99) | US$189/yr (list US$311.88) | 5,000/month | Everything in Basic, early access to new features, 30% off credit packs |
| Premium | US$89.99/mo (list US$129.99) | US$899/yr (list US$1,559.88) | 12,000/month | Unlimited videos in off-peak mode, 50% off credit packs |
What the credits buy. The pricing page estimates roughly 80 videos or 800 images a month on Basic, and 250 videos or 2,500 images on Advance. That matches the 20-credit clip in the guide screenshots. HD and newer models may cost more.
Credits expire. Per the official credit rules, subscription credits expire at the end of each subscription month, top-up credits last two years, and new-account gift credits last one month. The rules list a standard top-up rate of US$1.50 per 100 credits, but app-store pack prices differ, so check your own account. Credits are non-refundable, though credits for tasks that fail for technical reasons are returned automatically.
Read the refund terms carefully. The pricing page advertises a "30-day unconditional money-back guarantee". Wondershare's help center, however, says the membership is a virtual product that "does not support 30 days no reason refund for non-quality issues". Eligible cases include duplicate purchases or the wrong plan, so don't count on a no-questions refund. Promotions change, so check current plans on the official ToMoviee site before you buy.
Commercial use
Wondershare's help center says generated content can be used commercially if your prompts and uploaded materials are properly authorized and legal. It also calls AI copyright a legal gray area that varies by country, says you are responsible for your inputs, and recommends consulting a local lawyer before commercial use. I didn't see plan-based restrictions, but the free tier's watermark rules it out for client work anyway.
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Video, image, music, sound effects and voice in one account
- Camera movement presets give more control than prompt-only generators
- First/last-frame image-to-video for predictable animations
- Low entry price (Basic from US$8.99/month or US$89/year when I checked)
- Web, iOS and Android access, plus an API for developers
Cons:
- The documented clip length is 5 seconds, so longer scenes mean chaining clips with Video Extend
- No editing timeline in the web studio
- No free credits on a new account when I tested (October 2026)
- Subscription credits expire monthly and don't roll over
- Mixed messaging on refunds, and public specs for ToMoviee 2.5 Pro are thin
ToMoviee vs alternatives
| Tool | Entry price (Sept 2026) | Best for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| ToMoviee AI | No free credits on my new account; Basic US$8.99/mo or US$89/yr (1,600 credits/mo) | Budget all-in-one video + audio generation | Short clips; no timeline |
| Runway | Free one-time 125 credits; Standard US$12/mo billed yearly or US$15 monthly (625 credits/mo) | Access to many top models (Gen-4.5, Kling, Seedance and more) in one pro tool | Credits go fast. Runway says 625 credits equal about 52 seconds of Gen-4.5 |
| Pika | Free (credit packs only); Starter US$10/mo or US$8/mo billed yearly (900 credits) | Quick social clips across several third-party models | Commercial license only from the Creator plan (US$35/mo or US$28/mo billed yearly) |
| Filmora (with ToMoviee inside) | Free tier plus paid plans | Generating clips and editing them on a real timeline | Desktop editor; AI generation still uses credits |
My practical take: ToMoviee is one of the cheaper ways to get a broad AI video and audio toolkit. Runway costs more per clip but bundles several leading models and more pro controls. If you already edit in Filmora, Wondershare says ToMoviee 2.5 Pro is available inside the desktop editor, so you can generate and cut in one place. See our Filmora AI Clips + Captions guide for the editing side. And if you need to shrink or convert the finished files, our UniConverter review covers that.
FAQ
Is ToMoviee AI free?
Not in my test. The account I created on October 9, 2026 had 0 credits (subscription, top-up and gifted all at 0), and clicking Generate opened the subscription page. Wondershare's help center mentions gift and daily login credits, so promotions may vary, but don't count on them.
How long and how sharp are ToMoviee videos?
The official guide and API docs list fixed 5-second clips in 720p or 1080p (HD needs a paid plan). Build longer sequences with Video Extend or by editing clips together.
Can I use ToMoviee videos commercially?
Wondershare says yes, as long as your prompts and uploaded materials are properly authorized and legal. It also recommends legal advice, because AI copyright rules vary by country.

Verdict
ToMoviee AI is a capable, budget-friendly AI studio for short-form creators and marketers. Its strengths are breadth (video, images, music, sound effects and voice in one place) and control (camera presets and first/last-frame animation). Its limits are short clips, no timeline, expiring credits and refund terms worth reading twice. Treat it as a clip and asset generator, not a complete editor.
Start with the ToMoviee plans on the official site, generate a few clips from prompts you'd actually use, and upgrade to Basic only if the results hold up for your content. If editing is the bigger job, start with our Filmora review.
