Stay on Free or upgrade? A simple rule
Systeme.io’s own pricing FAQ ties each plan mostly to how many contacts you have: under 2,000 contacts, Free; 2,000 to 5,000, Startup; 5,000 to 10,000, Webinar; and more than 10,000, Unlimited. Funnels are the second trigger to watch.
- Stay on Free if you run one lead magnet and one offer, you have fewer than 2,000 contacts, and one automation rule covers your welcome sequence.
- Upgrade to Startup when you need a fourth funnel (for example a split test, a second product or a separate upsell path) or you’re getting close to 2,000 contacts. Startup gives you 10 funnels, not unlimited ones.
- Look at Webinar or Unlimited only if you sell through evergreen webinars, run more than 10 funnels or have more than 5,000 contacts.

How to set up your first funnel on Systeme.io Free
This is the general flow for a simple two-step lead-magnet funnel, the same kind I built on Free. Menu names can change, so follow Systeme.io’s help center if a screen looks different.
- Create a free account. You don’t need a card. Start free on Systeme.io.
- Plan the funnel. You only get 3 funnels, so decide which one this is: a lead magnet, a sales page or a webinar sign-up.
- Create a new funnel and choose the goal that matches it, such as building an audience.
- Add two steps: an opt-in page with a form, and a thank-you page that delivers your freebie.
- Edit the pages from a template. Keep one headline, one promise and one button.
- Tag new contacts so you can tell where each one came from later.
- Use your one automation rule to send the welcome email or freebie when someone signs up.
- Test the funnel yourself by signing up with a second email address, then publish it.
November 2026 update: sub-accounts are on every plan
When we re-checked the Systeme.io pricing page in November 2026, the prices and main limits still matched this guide: Free ($0), Startup ($17/month), Webinar ($47/month) and Unlimited ($97/month), with annual billing giving 2 months free. One thing has changed: Systeme.io now says every plan, including Free, allows unlimited sub-accounts, and each sub-account gets the same limits as your main plan at no extra cost. We've removed sub-accounts as a reason to pick Unlimited.
Is the Webinar plan worth $47?

Webinar is $30 a month more than Startup. According to Systeme.io's pricing FAQ, it gets you:

So Webinar makes sense in two cases:
- You sell with evergreen webinars. If one extra sale a month comes from an automated webinar, the $30 difference usually pays for itself.
- You've outgrown Startup's limits. Between 5,000 and 10,000 contacts, or above 10 funnels, Webinar is the next step even if you never run a webinar.
If neither applies, stay on Startup.
When to jump straight to Unlimited
Unlimited costs $50 a month more than Webinar. It's worth it once you pass 10,000 contacts, 50 funnels or 20 courses. Systeme.io's own guidance is to use Unlimited for lists over 10,000 contacts. Since sub-accounts are now on every plan, list size and funnel count are the main reasons to upgrade.
Annual billing math
With 2 months free on annual billing, a year costs the same as 10 months: about $170 for Startup, $470 for Webinar and $970 for Unlimited (based on the monthly prices, before any local taxes). Only switch to annual once you're sure about the tier, because downgrading mid-term means contacting support or waiting for the billing date.

Regional payment processors
Confirm Stripe/PayPal (and any local options) availability for your country inside the dashboard before you promise checkout methods on a sales page. Tooling that's "global" in marketing copy can still be regional in payments.
